THURSDAY 9TH JUNE

Citizens' dialogue on ocean
12-2pm, Stam Europe (EU Quarter)

Despite their importance and ubiquity, the oceans sometimes exist only within legal organizations and treaties, represented by a handful of humans who focus on a specific aspect of the marine system.

Experimental workshop - Come and speak for the oceans

For citizens - June 9, from 12 to 2 PM at
Stam Europa, rue d'Arlon 104, 1040 Brussels.

Didn't anyone ever tell you, as a child, that if you put a shell against your ear, you could hear the sea? Do you remember that? What did it say? Was it happy? Sad? What did it think about humans playing on the beach? There are now very clear scientific explanations for this curious phenomenon. But if the sea, the water, the oceans could actually speak, what would they say?

Let's imagine together: what if the oceans were masters of their destiny by negotiating in international conferences and international forums? What if they were to take the law into their own hands in court? What would they have to say to you, your children or your neighbours?

Come and experience with us this dialogue with the living during Ocean week.
